David Ginola Urges Newcastle Fans to Give Jaissle Time Until Christmas
Former Newcastle United favourite David Ginola has urged supporters to be patient with Matthias Jaissle, despite the Magpies' disappointing start to the Premier League season.
Speaking after Newcastle's recent run of three defeats in four matches, including the 1-0 home defeat against Aston Villa, Ginola acknowledged that performances have been worrying.
However, the Frenchman believes the new manager deserves until at least Christmas to demonstrate what he can achieve with his squad.
Ginola Calls for Patience
Ginola, who remains a popular figure among Newcastle supporters, believes expectations must be realistic following the significant changes at St James' Park.
The departures of influential players including Bruno Guimarães, Sandro Tonali, Kieran Trippier and Anthony Gordon have left Jaissle facing a substantial rebuilding challenge.
Ginola also cautioned against expecting an immediate return to the entertaining attacking football associated with Kevin Keegan or Eddie Howe.
His message is that Newcastle need stability and a clear direction rather than another period of upheaval.
Performances Must Improve
Although Ginola supports giving Jaissle more time, he recognises that Newcastle's recent performances have given supporters plenty of reasons for concern.
The boos following the Aston Villa defeat demonstrated the frustration inside St James' Park.
Ginola believes supporters need to see evidence that the team is progressing under its new manager.
He also expects £51 million summer signing Matias Fernandez-Pardo to improve as he adapts to his new surroundings.
A Crucial Period Ahead
Newcastle travel to Crystal Palace on Sunday looking for a much-needed improvement in results.
For Jaissle, the challenge is to turn his ideas into performances that restore confidence among players and supporters.
Ginola's intervention adds another voice to the debate about how much time Newcastle's new manager should be given
Do you agree with David Ginola that Jaissle should be given until Christmas before his progress is seriously judged?
Or do you believe Newcastle need to show significant improvement much sooner?

I think we have no option but to be patient. While we do have seasoned experienced players , we do have a fair few work in progress players plus the manager himself at PL level .
I look at the squad and I'll list who I see as finished article players , that I see no growth in , that wont get any better , that will only decline if anything.
Joelinton ,willock , Murphy ,barnes ,wissa, schar , botman ,burn , pope.
That's 9 players.
These are the players I'd put in the group who could get a bit better , but a not a huge amount .
Livramento , dedic , thiaw , ramsey , elanga ,osula. That's …
At the moment Pardo is held back by the same muscle tension that you experience when you shank a bad iron shot. He's learnt tension and that compounds his fluidity.
Play him on the left and he will find more space and once he's scored his first goal the likelihood is that he'll play with more flair and find more goals.
Relax....
