I honestly can't believe the sudden hate for Eddie. Man we forget fast. We're acting like this current setup has achieved more than him already. CL nights, a cup, wonderful displays....
Couldn't agree more.
Wherever that hate is coming from it is beyond belief.
95% of people find it easier to criticise than to praise and social media has given those people a platform to vent way over the top criticism because it grabs more attention than giving praise.
Hatred for Eddie Howe??
Those haters need to give their heads a massive shake...
Fans anywhere near my age - in their late 50's to 70+ - spent our whole time supporting Newcastle through thin and thin with managers and players who won us sod all.
Even the great KK and SBR couldn't win a trophy between them in their time at the club.
Eddie Howe took over when we were nailed on relegations favourites, without a win, and many fans weren't motivated at all by his appointment.
We all know what happened after that and the absolute pride and joy he brought to NUFC when in his first full season we qualified for the CL and then lifted the cup at Wembley for the first time in 70 years.
Eddie Howe was not only a successful manager for Newcastle United, he was also a genuine and extremely good person who gave his all for the club and totally understood what NUFC meant to us supporters.
Critiscism is acceptable.
But any fan dragging ithat down to the level of hatred and bile should hang their heads in shame.
I'd ask them this...
What have YOU achieved in your life that comes anywhere close to what Eddie Howe achieved at Newcastle United.
I bet I know the answer...
