It Couldn't Happen... Or Could It?

Before the derby against Sunderland we were hoping to go on a run that would secure a European campaign next season. Three defeats later...

Relegation is a possibility

As 'click baity' as that may sound... it isn't impossible and that just sums up how a poor season now has the potential for disaster.

To be in a siutation with just five games to go where we aren't already totally safe from relegation is a real shock to the system.

Blog stalwart Onmeheedsun has shook me to the core with this post...

Sorry but the pessimist has come out in me again. Next matches, Arsenal, Brighton, Forest, West Ham. All in reasonable form and needing the points. Leeds, Forest and West Ham look capable of beating our 42 points. So if Spurs get 12 points out of 15 🫣. It’s unlikely but not impossible. I do not want us to have to beat Fulham to stay up. Spurs win their next 2 and we lose ours, out of nowhere the gap is just 5 points with 3 to play. Take nothing for granted. Not a time to be coasting.

Unlikely? Unthinkable? Far fetched? Maybe. Impossible? Unfortunately not.

If you thought our last five matches are just a walk to the end of a poor season - think again. We absolutely need at least one more win to avoid the unthinkable.

I get that Spurs need to go on a run that has alluded them so far - but they have a new manager whipping their backsides and quality players who might yet just click.

We are on a run that gives us no confidence at all, and next up it's Arsenal away.

Squeaky bum time has a way of destabilising managers and players into panic mode, and we lose our next game and Spurs and West Ham win - relegation talk will be in the air for sure. The media, in Keegan's famous words... will love it, just love it.

JFA and a few others have previously said that they just want this season over...

We do - but over the line to stay in the Prem is now an absolute priority in the last five games.

Reading about eddie's big changes comments yesterday. If he stays and the PIF backs him and ross wilson with money to spend. What players i expect or see realistically going?

Anthony gordon 70-75 m. I think he wants to go no matter what , he's been a good player for us , but i dont see the point keeping a player that doesnt want to be there. Id personally sell him to bayern munich if the rumours are true.

Tino livramento 60m. He wont sign a contract , plus it's fair to say he's injury prone. Sell him to man city.

Sandro tonali. 80-100m. The rumours say he wants to go home to italy. I dont see any italian cl…

Replying to

I would definitely add Jacob Murphy to that list, along with a few others.

I seen a few on social media suggesting putting wissa on the wing in a similar role he had with brentford when ivan toney was there. I know eddie wont play him there or even start him , but given murphy and elanga's form on the right i wouldnt be against it tbh putting wissa on the right

Osula's record as a starter in all competitions in near 2 seasons

11 starts. 5 goals and 3 asissts .

I think the kid is still a bit of an uncordinated puppy , his decision making still needs brushing up but i think he's made more progress as a player than anyone else at the club this season from the group of players we had from last season. If he could improve his 1st touch and decision making , we got a proper handful up top. He's still young , not far off joelinton's size and not far off gordon's pace.

I doubt Wolte or wissa will start jail. Eddie has as good as said they are not doing enough in training for him. Osula will propably see the season as the CF barring injuries. I wouldnt mind miley at RB with the midfield you suggested.
