Our 30 Game Prem Stats

14 Wins - 12 Defeats - 4 Draws
That is our Prem form since 1st January this year.
After an iffy start to last season we went on that great run up to the end of the year but our form in the second half of the season was inconsistent.
However the EFL Cup run and win and the euphoria that followed masked that inconsistent league form.
The signs were already there, and losing 11 games in a season and still qualifying for the CL from 5th due to the extra place carried a large dose of good fortune that was easy to ignore.
We can mention injuries to Wissa, losing Isak, bedding in new players etc., but the fact is our inconsistent league form, and especially away from home, predates all of that.
In short; our form now for 30 games is way off what it takes to qualify for the CL or any one of the European competitions. It translates to a 9th place finish on 58pts going on last season.
I, and many other fans, are very reluctant to point fingers at Eddie Howe after the brilliant job he has done in taking us from relegation candidates to the CL and our first domestic cup win in 70 years.
His job is not under threat now, of that I am sure.
But I am sure that he will be feeling the pressure, that he is aware of our last 30 game Prem stats - and that PIF will be aware of those stats too,
2pts off a relegation spot in the ruthless world of Prem football is not acceptable.
Our Prem form has to improve. And fast.

Last Post From Bad to Worse

On the present situation, it`s not just the results that are very concerning, it`s also the fact we have really declined in our overall basic football standards. This international break has probably come at a good time for Eddie and the team. On Eddie, even though i`m a huge fan of the lad, and greatly respect the manner in which he represents the club, like all managers he is not without his mistakes, and he is certainly not indispensable in these modern football times, where results are everything. Come what may, i think Eddie deserves at least until the end of the season to turn things around, i was never a fan of rash knee jerk reactions in football or in life!! Edd…
Those stats don't make for good reading there like Bill's
😬
How about Davis from Ipswich and get Philogene as well
It is only going to get worse before it gets better.
Our next run of fixtures is probably the hardest on paper that we have had so far this season.
We have certainly had bad spells in the past, but I think this is the only time I have seen the manager under genuine pressure, and rightly so.
want a striker who scores and is a Geordie, easy. Get Wee Adam from Southanpton, I reckon he'd walk from there to join us. Whilst we are at it get the other Murphy from Portsmouth.
