Supporting Newcastle United: A Loyalty Above All Others?

I had a very stressful day on Friday and it got me thinking (dangerous, I know ).
We come up against all sorts of people as we try to navigate a pathway through life but we find a way to deal with it.
There are many types of people, the manipulators, the bullies, the passives, hot heads and cool heads and everything in between.
We football fans are no different.
Passionate, tribal, just one bad performance from abject despair or understanding and forgiveness.
At the other end of the scale there is the emotional joy of victory sometimes tempered by the feeling we didn't deserve it. Or maybe it’s the relief we feel after holding out for a close win or a hard fought draw.
We fans have an uncanny bond with the club we love. But everyone has an opinion and we express ourselves in different ways, there is no right or wrong way to do it.
Supporting Newcastle United has been compared perhaps unfairly, to a marriage.
I say unfairly with no disrespect to the institution of marriage intended.
Yet it’s a fact that a marriage can be very easily dissolved these days. But divorcing the Toon simply wouldn't happen, it couldn’t.
As the Eagles famously said in the song Hotel California, “you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.”
For me it doesn't matter how you became a fan. Whether born into it or a choice made far from the North East, once hooked it becomes a lifelong commitment.
Glass half full or half empty, eternal optimist or armchair worrier (see what I did there) your opinion is as valid as the next man's. That’s what attracted me to Dr Ed’s blog.
Agreement, disagreement, debate, banter and yes, the occasional ruck. We have it all and I love it! And despite all of this we all have an unbreakable bond with Newcastle United FC.
Personally I was born into it. I joke that I’ve been a fan since my Dad told me I was but it’s true.
That was over 60 years ago and during that time I’ve experienced every emotion from the utter joy of winning two cups to the abject misery of watching the Mackems put four goals past us at St James Park way back in 1979.
Yet throughout and despite all of the challenges, my love and loyalty for the club remains as strong as ever.
What more can I say but Howay the Lads! Oh and keep those opinions coming!
An absolute belter of a post in the International Break from The Geordie Mongrel.
One thing this mongrel isn't is barking mad; TGM shows as much passion towards his beloved NUFC as the most loyal of dogs do to their owners.
And, how right TGM is that it is easier to divorce your partner than it is to walk away from being wedded to Newcastle United. (don't tell your partner that or divorce might follow).
Have you got a post in you? If so get scribbling and send it to nufcblogcom@gmail.com
Get a rant off your chest, share an opinion, or just tell the blog how long you've supported the club, and your favourite players and matches of all time .
Owt you like, and I'll publish it as a post during the break.

@Lochinvar the land that St James Park sit is owned by the Council like all of the other moors in Newcastle. However they are managed by both the Council and the Freemen. I wrote an article about it over on Discord, I'll see if I can find it.
What Type Of 'Supporter' Are YOU? By Blog Member Ronway.
Seems it's being reported that Sandro would only consider a move back to Italy, which might be a problem for him, then.
@Martoon
Was aiming for a May 2nd Brighton meet but there's been an alarming dearth of replies or interest shown in it.
@JfA I've been away a lot recently so haven't kept up with the blog but I noticed you mentioned a meet up but I can't find the details on here or on Discord?
