Two Killer Games In One Epic Night As England Leave Mexico Dead & Buried

I'm just back home from staying over in Alnwick after watching England's fantastic performance and win over Mexico in the Azteca. What a game and what a night.
The delay to KO was filled in with a dozen of us playing game after game of Killer on the pool table and the tension and pressure on potting a ball got the emotions tuned up for the real shoot out - England v Mexico.
What can I add that hasn't already been said on the blog and across the media...
My hope yesterday that England would rise to the occasion was realised in spades as Tuchel's boys in white proved that, whilst the soul of their game might not be the equal of favourites France or Spain, their hearts are as big and as bold as the three lions on their shirts.
This wasn't a game for the faint hearted especially after Mexico piled into England in the minutes before half time after pulling the game back to 2-1.
Jude Bellingham might not have got his hattrick but his block as the ball looked to be heading for a certain equaliser was as every bit as crucial to England as a third goal to his name would have been.
Had Mexico gone in at half time level they would have been wild and elated whilst England would been deflated and bewildered at seeing a two goal lead evaporate.
And then, just nine minutes into the second half as Mexico were flying at us for the equaliser, Quansah was sent off leaving England having to weather the inevitable Mexico storm with just ten men for over half an hour plus any stoppage time.
But, from then on until the last kick of the game England were magnificent.
They were still taking the game to Mexico whenever the opportunity arose and from a break Gordon was upended laving captain fantastic Kane to put us 3-1 up.
IMO Mexico's penalty was a joke decision but in the end it was just another piece of drama to add to a dramatic night that will live long in the memory.
Battlers, warriors, heroes...
Those are the plaudits that every man jack who wore the white shirt last night deserves to be called for that performance.
England players get loads of stick when they don't rise to the occasion...
Today they have every right to get showered with praise and pride.
Next up it's the vikings of Norway.
Another performance like last night should be good enough to sink the men in their longboats and send them to the watery WC grave.
Is it coming home?
After last night's magnificence... we are one step nearer.
Last Post: England v Mexico Preview
Tottenham will test Bournemouth's resolve with an £85m bid for French forward Eli Junior Kroupi, despite the Cherries insistence that the 20-year-old is not for sale. (Talksport)
The calamity that is FFP allow this spend spend spend situation with Spurs because they are deemed to be in surplus financially. The fact that it's revenue generated outside of football via renting out their stadium to non football events like Bake Off or a Tele-Tubbies convention is neither here nor there. Would be interesting to see what the reaction would be if the PIF hired out SJP themselves for functions at some £million rates !
If you think we've been lucky avoiding all the big hitters in this round that was no mean feat winning there last night.

11 minutes probably because of the few incidents, two pens and a sending off, i got a bit of ribbing on my group chat for calling it last night 😂
That's me in the green 👍
Was hoping that went to extra time and pens as I've got a pint can of San Miguel left 😂
Ronaldo has been a truly marvellous player beyond question, but for me he offers no contribution to the collective team ethos, you simply can't rewind the clock in life.
