# Newcastle United Transfer Rumours: What's Happening Before the January Transfer Window Closes?

With just over two weeks to go until the end of the January transfer window, the buzz around Newcastle United is palpable. Rumours are swirling about who might be coming in and who could be leaving. Let’s dive into the latest gossip and see what’s on the horizon.

Jurgen Klopp's Interest in Bruno Guimaraes

The football world is abuzz with speculation about Real Madrid's managerial situation. With Xabi Alonso's departure, Jurgen Klopp is reportedly being eyed as the new manager. And guess what? He’s keen on bringing Bruno Guimaraes along for the ride. Imagine that! Klopp and Bruno together in Madrid. It’s a tantalising thought, isn’t it?

Joe Willock's Potential Move

Joe Willock is another name making headlines. With just 18 months left on his contract and no longer a regular starter at Newcastle, it seems he’s ready for a change. Leeds United and Crystal Palace are said to be interested in securing his services. Willock has shown flashes of brilliance in the past, and it would be a shame to see him go, but sometimes a fresh start is just what a player needs.

Rumours Surrounding Jamaal Lascelles

Club captain Jamaal Lascelles is also in the spotlight. Two clubs have reportedly made inquiries about him, even as he continues to recover from an injury. It’s tough to see a leader like Lascelles potentially leaving, but the nature of football is ever-changing.

Fringe Players on the Move

The Evening Chronicle has reported that Newcastle United is clearing out some fringe players this transfer window. Eddie Howe and Ross Wilson are taking a hard look at the squad and making tough decisions.

Ben Parkinson, Harrison Ashby, and Joe White have already left the club. But that’s not all! Former skipper Jamaal Lascelles, U21s captain Cathal Heffernan, and midfielder Alfie Harrison could also be on their way out before the window closes. It’s a time of transition, and while it’s sad to see some familiar faces go, it’s all part of building a stronger team.

Centre Back: The Priority Signing

With Fabian Schar sidelined for three months and both Dan Burn and Emile Krafth still recovering, Newcastle's priority in this transfer window is clear: they need a centre back. Sven Botman has just returned from injury, and Tino Livramento won’t be back until March. The urgency is real!

However, the competition for Marc Guehi is fierce, and Newcastle seems to be stepping back from their previous interest. Eddie Howe has mentioned that any incoming transfers will depend on a thorough assessment of the injury situation and the financial restrictions imposed by the PSR.

Other Transfer Rumours to Keep an Eye On

The Evening Chronicle also reports that Newcastle is keeping tabs on Brazilian midfield star Allan. This 21-year-old has an £86m release clause in his contract. His current club, the former team of Newcastle icon Mirandinha, recently turned down a £30m offer from Napoli. They believe that Allan’s value will skyrocket after the World Cup, where he is expected to shine for his country.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth is bracing itself for interest in English midfielder Alex Scott, 22. Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, Manchester City, Aston Villa, and yes, Newcastle United, are all eyeing him. (Teamtalk) Who wouldn’t want a player with such potential?

What’s Next for Newcastle?

As we approach the end of the transfer window, the excitement is building. Who will stay, and who will go? It’s a thrilling time to be a Newcastle United fan.

So, who would you like to see leave Newcastle? And which players do you think we should target? The discussions are heating up, and I can’t wait to hear your thoughts!

Whether we like it or not i think Eddie and Ross Wilson have assessed our injury situation and likely return dates compared it to what is out there right now against the back drop of 30 June PSR deadline and decided that the smart move with what funds we have is not to buy

We can spend either before 30 June when prices will be lower and right players more available if there is wriggle room or from 1 July otherwise

I think decision is a calculated one in club's best longterm interests

That doesn't mean it's the right decision as still tons of football to play, and we are 1 or 2 injuries away from another crisis.

Suppose we can look forward to a full reset in the summer, it’ll be here sooner than you think. Never a dull moment with the toon mind. 🙃

There will be no players coming into this club in January, the manager has just about told us this on more than one occasion.

We are struggling to integrate 4 of our new signings into the team successfully, although there are signs of improvement. Adding more players into the mix at this stage would be counter productive in my view, never mind the fact it’s the worst time of the year to get any value in the market.

Unless we sell a Willock then I think we run with what we’ve got.

Keep our powder dry for the summer.

Disagree. We need fullback cover as Trippier isn't up to it anymore sadly and Krafth is not getting any younger. Tino and Hall have both had a few injuries.

A youngish fullback as cover to come off the bench or fill in when there's an injury, I don't think would really disrupt us and in fact give us that cover we desperately need.
